Blast
Theory is one of the leading artists' groups in
Britain making interactive performances, installations,
video and mixed reality projects. Combining rigorous
research and development with leading edge technologies,
their practice ranges across media and disciplines,
taking risks and encouraging critical debate.
Mixed
Reality Lab (MRL) is an interdisciplinary research
initiative at the University of Nottingham. The MRL
brings together leading researchers in Computer Science,
Engineering and Psychology to research new technologies
that merge the physical and digital worlds, focusing
on playful, artistic and educational applications.

Exact’s radical multimedia lab has a track
record of innovation in advanced multimedia technologies
including virtual environments, virtual characters (avatars),
mobile multimedia and content, next generation graphics
technology, multimedia design and prototype creation.

Uncle Roy All Around You premiered
at the ICA, London in May 2003.
The project is supported by Equator and
the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council,
Microsoft Research, an Innovation Award from the Arts
& Humanities Research Board and the Interdisciplinary
Arts Department of Arts Council England through the
National Touring Programme.
